This guide explains how to use Miracast to wirelessly share your Windows laptop screen with the NearHub Board S Pro Series and Max Series running Windows 11 Pro.

Miracast allows you to mirror or extend your laptop screen to the NearHub Board without an HDMI cable or additional screen-sharing software.

Note: Miracast requires compatible wireless hardware and drivers on both devices. Make sure Wi-Fi is enabled before getting started.

Step 1: Install Wireless Display on NearHub Board

Before using Miracast for the first time, you may need to install the Wireless Display feature on your NearHub Board.

  1. Turn on your NearHub Board and enter the Windows desktop.
  2. Open Start → Settings → System → Projecting to this PC.
  3. If prompted to add the Wireless Display feature, click Optional features.
  4. Click View features next to Add an optional feature.
  5. Search for Wireless Display, select it, and click Next → Install.
  6. Wait for the installation to complete.

Note: If Wireless Display is already installed, you can skip this step.

Step 2: Enable Wireless Display on NearHub Board

  1. Once installation is complete, return to Settings → System → Projecting to this PC.
  2. Configure the available projection settings to allow wireless connections.
  3. Open the Windows search bar and search for Wireless Display.
  4. Launch the Wireless Display app.
  5. Keep the app open so your NearHub Board is ready to receive a wireless connection.

Step 3: Connect Your Windows Laptop via Miracast

  1. Make sure Wi-Fi is enabled on your Windows laptop.
  2. Press Windows + K on your laptop keyboard to open the Cast panel.
  3. Wait for the list of available wireless displays to appear.
  4. Select your NearHub Board from the device list.
  5. Follow any on-screen instructions to approve the connection, if prompted.

Once connected, your laptop screen will be displayed on the NearHub Board.

Step 4: Choose Your Display Mode

After connecting, press Windows + P on your laptop to choose your preferred display mode:

  • Duplicate: Show the same content on both your laptop and NearHub Board.
  • Extend: Use the NearHub Board as a second display.
  • Second screen only: Display content only on the NearHub Board.

Select the mode that best suits your meeting or presentation needs.

Step 5: Disconnect Miracast

When you finish your presentation:

  1. Press Windows + K on your laptop.
  2. Locate the connected NearHub Board.
  3. Click Disconnect to stop wireless screen sharing.
