NearHub Canvas provides tools for writing, drawing, adding content, collaborating, and organizing your whiteboard. Follow the steps below to learn how to use the main Canvas features.

Create and Manage a Whiteboard

From the Canvas homepage, you can create and manage your whiteboards.

  • Create a new whiteboard.
  • Rename a whiteboard.
  • Open or switch between local and online whiteboards.
  • Delete a whiteboard.
  • Join another whiteboard.
Note: Pro users can create unlimited whiteboards.

Write and Draw on the Canvas

To add handwritten notes or drawings:

  1. Select the Pencil tool.
  2. Write or draw on the Canvas.
  3. Adjust the color and thickness of the pen as needed.
  4. Use the Eraser to remove your handwriting or drawings.
  5. Use two fingers to zoom in or out of the Canvas.

Add and Edit Shapes

You can add shapes and graphics to organize your ideas.

After selecting a shape, you can:

  • Resize and move it.
  • Change its color.
  • Add or edit text.
  • Change text size and other text properties.
  • Add a link.
  • Duplicate or delete the shape.
  • Change the order of objects.
  • Add arrows to connect shapes.

You can also convert a shape into a text box for easier text editing.

Use Templates and Stickers

Use built-in templates to quickly create common whiteboard layouts.

You can also add stickers and other graphics to your Canvas. Drag them to reposition or arrange them as needed.

Add or Switch Between Pages

A Canvas can contain multiple pages.

Use the page controls in the bottom-right corner to:

  • Switch between pages.
  • Jump directly to a specific page.
  • Add a new page.
  • Navigate using the arrow buttons.

Import a PDF or Image

To add existing content to your Canvas:

  1. Select the Upload button.
  2. Choose a local PDF or image file.
  3. Add the file to your Canvas.

Share a Canvas

You can invite others to collaborate on your Canvas.

Select Share in the upper-left corner and choose one of the available sharing methods:

  • Email – Invite collaborators directly by email.
  • Canvas Code – Share a code that participants can enter on a NearHub Board, computer, or mobile device.
  • Link – Create a shareable link and send it through other apps.
  • QR Code – Let participants scan a QR code with their phone or tablet.

You can also manage editing permissions for collaborators.

Change the Canvas Background

You can customize the Canvas by changing its background.

Select the Canvas Background option and choose the background that best fits your activity.

Enable or Disable Finger Drawing

You can choose how your finger interacts with the Canvas:

  • Turn Draw with Finger on to draw directly with your finger.
  • Turn it off to use your finger to drag and navigate the Canvas.

Export a Canvas as a PDF

You can export your Canvas as a PDF and choose which pages to include.

  1. Open the Export option.
  2. Select the pages you want to export.
  3. Choose how you want to share the PDF:
    • Email
    • QR Code
